Playbook Gaming Casinos: Fined 250,000 Pounds, Gone Nine Days Later

Playbook Gaming Limited ran seven British betting brands. On 10 November 2025 the Gambling Commission fined it £250,000 and issued a warning. Nine days later, on 19 November 2025, the company surrendered all six of its licences.

So if you are looking for Playbook Gaming casinos, the network no longer exists. Three of its brands survived by getting licences of their own, one has posted a closure notice, and three have gone off the internet entirely. Here is where each one ended up.

Updated 31 August 2026. One of the survivors has since stopped. BresBet’s own licence, account 65252, was suspended by the Gambling Commission with effect from 28 August 2026, and bresbet.com is offline behind a notice saying so. The table and the sections below have been corrected. DragonBet, Planet Sport Bet and Bet Vickers are unaffected and still trading.

What the Commission found

The sanction is published in full on account 50122. Following a licence review, the Commission found that between August 2023 and August 2024 the licensee:

• Breached paragraphs 2 and 3 of licence condition 12.1.1, anti-money laundering and the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing.
• Failed to comply with paragraphs 1, 3, 4, 5, 9 and 12 of social responsibility code provision 3.4.3, customer interaction.
• Failed to comply with paragraphs 1 and 2 of social responsibility code provision 3.9.1, identification of individual customers on remote licences.

The outcome was a warning under section 117(1)(a) of the Gambling Act 2005 and a financial penalty of £250,000. The Commission’s record notes that the licensee co-operated with the investigation throughout.

Nine days is a short gap between a penalty and a surrender, and the register does not explain it. What the register does show is that all six licences ended on the same date, 19 November 2025: the non-remote general betting licence, and the remote licences for betting intermediary, bingo, casino, real event betting and virtual event betting.

Where the seven brands went

Betzone says so itself

betzone.co.uk still resolves, and what it serves is a single line on a black page: “Betzone has now ceased trading and the website is no longer available.” No redirect, no forwarding address, no reference to the licence.

That is the cleanest closure of the seven, and it is worth contrasting with rhino.bet and yeeehaaa.bet, which simply have no address record at all. A domain with no DNS is not a casino that has moved. It is a casino that has stopped.

Three brands did survive, on their own licences

BresBet, DragonBet and Planet Sport Bet all took out licences of their own, and none of them ran on Playbook’s old permission. Each sits on a licence issued to a differently named company, which is the outcome you would want if you had a balance with one of them.

Two of those three are still trading. BresBet is not. Its own licence, account 65252, was suspended with effect from 28 August 2026, and its homepage now carries a single paragraph: “The operating licence 65252 has been suspended by the Gambling Commission with effect from 28 August 2026.” Customers are pointed at support@bresbet.com and nothing else.

Getting your own licence was the right move for a brand leaving a collapsing network, and it protected BresBet’s customers from Playbook’s problems. It did not make the brand permanently safe. We cover the suspension, and what a suspension means for money on deposit, in BresBet sister sites.

Vickers is the odd one. The old vickers.bet domain now forwards to betvickers.com, which belongs to J R & S Leisure Ltd on account 66877, registered under the trading names Bet Vickers and Vickers Racing. Same family of name, different licensee, different domain.

None of the four accounts carries a published regulatory sanction of its own. We checked 65252, 64908, 65109 and 66877 again on 31 August 2026 and the Commission records no regulatory action against any of them. A suspension is not the same thing as a published sanction: the register shows BresBet’s licences as Suspended, but no penalty and no reasons have been published.

What this means if you had an account

A surrendered licence is not the same as a revoked one. Surrender is the operator handing the permission back, and it is the normal route when a company is winding a business down or selling brands on.

If you held a balance with any of the seven, the brand’s current operator is the party to contact, and for the three that moved to their own licences that is a different company from the one that was fined.
