32Red Review: The Licence It Moved To Was Fined 10 Million

32Red draws around 550 UK searches a month across its review terms. It is one of the oldest names in British online casino, trading since 2002, and it is properly licensed by the Gambling Commission. Our score: 8 out of 10 for a UK audience.

The complication is not the brand. It is the company behind it. In March 2025 the original 32Red Limited surrendered its British licence, and the brand now runs on an account that was fined ten million pounds six months later.

Is 32Red licensed in the UK?

Yes, and the site states it plainly. Its footer reads:

“Platinum Gaming Limited is regulated and licensed by The Great British Gambling Commission (under Account number 45322), with respect to customers registered in Great Britain, and for all other products and jurisdictions, (ii) The Government of Gibraltar (under Licence numbers 091 and 092), and the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner under the Gambling Act 2005. 32Red® is an approved brand operated by Platinum Gaming Limited.”

That checks out against the register. Account 45322 belongs to Platinum Gaming Limited, at Kindred House in Wimbledon, and carries five active remote licences: Bingo, Casino, General Betting on real and virtual events, and Pool Betting, all running since 12 July 2016.

The address matters. Kindred House is the London office of Kindred Group, the Swedish operator behind Unibet, and Platinum Gaming is the licence its brands sit on. The licence that was surrendered

Search the register for 32Red and you get two results, which is where most write-ups go wrong.

The first is 32Red Limited, account 39430, at 401 World Trade Centre, Gibraltar. It held a remote Casino licence and a remote General Betting licence from 1 November 2014. Both are marked Surrendered, ending 12 March 2025. All four of its domains, including 32red.com, 32redbingo.com, 32redpoker.com and 32redsport.com, are listed as inactive on that account.

Surrendered means the company handed the licence back. It is not a revocation and it is not a sanction: account 39430 carries zero regulatory actions. The brand did not close, it moved. 32red.com is now listed as an active domain on the Platinum Gaming account, which is why the site keeps running while its original licence sits closed on the register.

This is a common enough shape and we have documented it before, at Vickers, where a licence changed hands in a single day. The distinction worth holding on to is that a surrendered licence in a brand’s history is not itself a warning. What is on the licence it moved to matters far more.

The £10 million penalty

Account 45322 carries one regulatory action, and it is a large one.

The Commission’s own summary, dated 22 September 2025, states that between January 2023 and May 2024 the licensee:

“Breached paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of Licence condition 12.1.1: Anti-money laundering – Prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing. Breached Licence condition 12.1.2 – Anti-money laundering measures for operators based in foreign jurisdictions. Failed to comply with paragraphs 1,2,4,5,7,9,11 & 12 of Social Responsibility Code Provision (“SRCP”) 3.4.3: Customer Interaction.”

The outcome was a warning under section 117(1)(a) of the Gambling Act 2005, a financial penalty of £10,000,000, and an additional condition attached to the operating licence under section 117(1)(b). The Commission notes that the licensee co-operated throughout.

SRCP 3.4.3 is the customer interaction rule: the requirement to identify and act on signs of harm rather than let a losing customer keep going unchallenged. Failing twelve of its paragraphs, alongside the anti-money laundering conditions, is the reason the penalty reached eight figures.

Two things are worth saying in the same breath. A penalty this size is a serious finding about how the operator behaved. It is also evidence that the regulator examined the account, published what it found and imposed a condition, which is precisely the mechanism a British licence exists to provide. Should you play at 32Red?

If you want a British-licensed casino, it qualifies without argument. It is on the register, it is inside GAMSTOP, it publishes its bonus terms up front, and a dispute you cannot resolve can be escalated to an ADR body and ultimately reported to the Commission. What we would not do is treat the 2002 heritage as the whole story. The company that built that reputation gave up its licence in March 2025. The brand now trades on a Kindred licence that was fined ten million pounds for anti-money laundering and customer interaction failures over an eighteen-month period ending May 2024. Both of those facts are on the public register, and neither appears in the marketing.
