Vegas Hero review: closed since the Genesis UK exit

Vegas Hero is closed to UK players and has been since 6 December 2022. That was the day iGB reported that Genesis Global Limited, the Maltese company behind it, shut all 14 of its British sites at once. The domain has not died, though. On 18 September 2026 vegashero.com sends a UK visitor a 403 “ACCESS RESTRICTED” page, and that page belongs to an unrelated offshore group that relaunched the brand in 2025. The Gambling Commission register has no entry left for Genesis. Our score: 5 out of 10.

Two different casinos have used this name, and the distinction matters. The first was licensed in Britain, fined £3.8 million, and closed with a withdrawal window. The second is unlicensed, blocks the UK, and has a Trustpilot page full of British players who reached it anyway in late 2025 and waited weeks for withdrawals of £40 to £500. If you had money at the first, the realistic options are at the end. If you are thinking of depositing at the second, do not.

Genesis Global Limited held Gambling Commission account 45235. Open that account on the register today and you get “No register entry found”, and the server answers with HTTP 410, a “gone” response. What happened to Genesis Global

The closure did not come out of nowhere. The Gambling Commission suspended Genesis Global Limited’s licence in July 2020 and lifted the suspension on 14 October 2020. Then, on 27 January 2022, it fined the company £3.8 million, issued a formal warning and attached an extra audit condition to the licence, for social responsibility and anti money laundering failures.

The press release gives examples, and they are grim. One customer was allowed to spend £245,000 in three months while the company knew they were an NHS nurse earning £30,000 a year. Another lost £197,000 over six months. Those are the failures the fine was for.

Later that year the company left the UK. iGB reported on 6 December 2022 that Genesis had closed all 14 British sites that day: Casino Planet, Casoola, Kassu, Casino Cruise, Casino Gods, Casino Joy, Casino Lab, Casino Masters, Genesis Casino, Pelaa, Sloty, Spela, Spinit and Vegas Hero. Withdrawals stayed open until 30 December 2022. Ariel Reem, chief executive since 2014, had already left. Genesis filed for insolvency in Malta in December 2022, and the Malta Gaming Authority cancelled its licence in January 2024.

What the licensed Vegas Hero was like

Under Genesis, Vegas Hero was a NetEnt-and-Microgaming lobby with the group’s standard package: a match bonus across the first deposits and free spins, cards and e-wallets in the cashier, and the Genesis “hero” theme. Its record was the group’s record. The 2020 suspension and the 2022 fine were for the licensee as a whole, and a Vegas Hero player in that period was a Genesis customer for every purpose that mattered: the same affordability failures, the same anti money laundering gaps, and the same abrupt exit. Nothing about the brand distinguished it from Sloty or Spinit beyond the artwork.

What vegashero.com serves a UK visitor today

The domain still answers. On 18 September 2026 it returns HTTP 403 with the text “403 Forbidden ACCESS RESTRICTED The project is not available for your country for legal reasons”, followed by an invitation to contact support@vegashero.com. The page code carries visitorRegion=GB, so the block is aimed at British visitors specifically.

The same block page, on the same template, appears on casinia.com and spinit.com. That tells you the domain has passed to the offshore group behind Casinia. Genesis is insolvent and has no Malta licence, so it cannot be the one running this page. Casino Guru’s review of the current site gives an establishment year of 2025, a Ta’ Xbiex address in Malta, a Safety Index of 5.5 “below average”, and the line “as far as we know, Vegas Hero Casino does not have a gambling license”. It lists 30 payment methods, mostly Scandinavian bank links and cryptocurrencies, a €500 daily and €7,000 monthly withdrawal cap, a 35x welcome package that excludes Skrill and Neteller depositors, and four terms clauses it rates unfair, including one that caps further winnings unless bonus winnings are withdrawn immediately. It has seven complaints against the site directly and 23 against related casinos.

British players at the relaunched site

The block page is not stopping everyone. The Trustpilot profile for vegashero.com, claimed in September 2019 under Genesis and now closed to new reviews, carries 263 reviews with 119 posted in the last twelve months, and a run of them in October and November 2025 come from accounts flagged as British, quoting sums in pounds. One reports a £500 withdrawal requested on 15 October, marked complete on 20 October and still not received on 16 November, “escalated more than 20 times”. Another has waited over a month for £40 and says the bank confirms nothing was sent. Others report five days for £50, ten days for a withdrawal that used to take under a week, and a reviewer from Ireland says approval “may take 2 to 6 weeks”. One suggests the site is fine “for small bets but do not bet more than £0.40 on slots as if you win big will take you an age”. One reviewer says she is “escalating to the UK Gambling Commission”; the Commission has no jurisdiction over the current operator, which is the point of this review.

How British players are reaching a geo-blocked site is not stated in the reviews; VPNs and affiliate links that route around the block are the usual answers. What the reviews establish is that the relaunched Vegas Hero takes deposits from UK residents when it can, pays slowly or not at all, and answers with “the relevant team is investigating”. That is the profile of a site with no regulator to answer to.

How we scored it

Safety 3: a licensed brand that was fined and then abandoned, and a name now used by an unlicensed operator that blocks Britain and, on the public record, takes British money anyway. Games 5 and payments 4 reflect the relaunched site’s offer as context: a broad lobby, a cashier built for Scandinavia and crypto, a €500 daily cap and month-long waits reported. Support 5: 24/7 chat and a support address that, per the reviews, gives the same answer each time. Overall 5, the floor of the scale, and it would be lower if the scale allowed.

How a closed brand comes back unlicensed

The sequence at Vegas Hero is one that repeats across the closed-brand reviews on this site. A licensed operator fails or withdraws, its domains lapse or are sold as part of the wind-down, and a company in a jurisdiction with no reach into Britain picks them up. The name still carries search traffic from players who remember it, affiliates who never removed their links, and forum threads that never marked it closed. The new owner puts a casino behind the old address, serves it to countries where it can, and blocks Britain because a British licence is the one thing it will never get for a brand with this record. Vegas Hero, Spinit and Casino Cruise all went this way after the Genesis collapse; Casino Room and CasinoLuck went to affiliate publishers instead, which is the benign version of the same thing.

The check that separates the two is the same every time. A licensed UK casino names its operating company and a five-digit Gambling Commission account number in its footer, and the register confirms it in a minute. A block page that says “the project is not available for your country for legal reasons” and names nobody has told you everything you need to know. The name on the door is the least reliable fact about any casino, and at Vegas Hero it has now belonged to two entirely different businesses.

What to do if you had a Vegas Hero account

The official route for getting money out of the licensed casino closed on 30 December 2022, and the company that owed it to you filed for insolvency in Malta the same month. There is no working Genesis support address on record, and none is printed here that cannot be verified. If you still hold emails from the casino before December 2022, reply to those and keep copies; the Maltese insolvency process is the only formal route left, and it is unlikely to return small balances.

Do not email support@vegashero.com about an old balance. That address reaches the domain’s new owner, not Genesis, and nothing on the block page suggests they know or care that a licensed casino once traded there. Do not deposit at the relaunched site through a VPN: it is unlicensed, GAMSTOP does not apply, and its own customers’ reviews describe what happens next.

If you self excluded through GAMSTOP while you played at Vegas Hero, check that the exclusion is still in force. It applies to British licensees as a group, and one site closing does not change your own status.
